jquery bookmarklet

buxFer1z3 v2

I have been in last weeks, so I never had time to update my blog nor my Buxfer account. Today I found out my bookmarklet wasn’t working anymore, so I updated it with a newer and simpler approach.
For testing/using it, as usual:

  • drag&drop buxFer1z3 to your “Boomkmarks toolbar”
  • go to Buxfer
  • click on the Bookmark you’ve just created
  • sit back and enjoy!

Everyone should know a bit jQuery and install FireBug

After jQuerify my life changed: I am not a passive surfer anymore.

Say you have taken the though decision to go through all “Automatic for the people” by R.E.M. and sing it all.
You luckily find all lyrics on a a easy-to-surf, ad-less fan site.
Unfortunately your sensible eye notices the dark rows in the song list is too dark and you suddenly fear it will get you completely blind if you don’t do something fast.

So hit the jQuerify bookmarklet, press CTRL-SHIFT-C to fire up FireBug in “Inspect HTML” mode, discover the culprit is the “automaticbg” class applied to alternato rows, click in the Firebug console, type $(”.automaticbg”).removeClass(“automaticbg”) and have some relief.

Bear with me. Sorry.
